Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using NorthAura StudyFlow (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for university, college and other post-secondary students aged 16 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian or educational institution.

You must be able to enter into a binding agreement in your country of residence.

3. Your account and responsibilities

• Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password confidential and do not share your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these Terms and lists conduct that is prohibited, including illegal activity, harassment, malware, spam, unauthorised access, reverse engineering, circumventing subscription controls and automated abuse of AI features.

5. Subscription terms

The Service offers a free plan and paid plans billed monthly, quarterly or annually. Paid plans unlock higher AI and upload allowances. Plan features and fair-use limits are described on the pricing and account pages and may change with notice.

6. Free trial terms

Where a free trial is offered, the trial length is shown before you confirm checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and the plan price is charged. Trials are limited to one per customer and may be withdrawn or changed at any time.

7. Billing and renewals

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your full card details.
• Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and may exclude applicable taxes.
• If a payment fails, access to paid features may be paused until payment succeeds.

8. Refund policy

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. If you were charged in error, or you cancel within 7 days of a first-time charge and have not made substantial use of the paid AI features, contact us and we will review your request in good faith. Where consumer law in your country grants you a stronger refund right, that law applies.

9. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the Account and Subscription page. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding and content, is owned by NorthAura Collection and protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own studies.

11. User-generated content

You keep ownership of the notes, documents, flashcards, quizzes and other content you create or upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate the features you request, such as generating summaries or flashcards.

12. AI-generated content disclaimer

AI features generate content automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. AI output is provided for educational support only and is not professional, legal, financial or medical advice. Always verify AI output against your original course materials before relying on it.

13. Academic integrity

NorthAura StudyFlow is designed to support learning, organization, revision and understanding. It is not designed to complete graded work for you, to enable plagiarism, or to help you circumvent your institution's policies. You remain solely responsible for complying with your institution's academic-integrity rules.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee grades, exam results or academic outcomes.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthAura Collection is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost data, lost grades or academic penalties arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places these limits apply only to the extent permitted.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NorthAura Collection from claims, losses and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

17. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, or abuse AI or upload allowances. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are unaffected.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
